From their favourite wild animal to a much loved pet, colour to favourite flower, these designs can be personalised to make the ring box just right for you both. You shall only be asking that special question once, so lets make it perfect!

Have a look below to see what can be done, then please do get in touch to have a chat about working with me to design a custom ring box especially for your magical moment. If you'd like more details on how we go about the designing and making process I have written a blog post all about it here.

'Jane I don't have words to tell you how much I love it. Thank you. Really from the bottom of my heart I love it. This will be the most special proposal thanks to your help.'

Kay

'We just wanted to let you know how much your efforts were appreciated – in all the examples of rubbish customer service I’ve had over the last few months, you were the shining light of someone who went above and beyond the call of duty!'

Robin

'I had my engagement ring box made with a personalised miniature model of our cat. I was really impressed with the craftsmanship and the service Jane provided, you can tell she loves what she does and she is very good at it. Oh, and my girlfriend said yes - it must have been the box!'

There are several ways that these little treasures can be customised to make them the perfect accompaniment to your proposal. To let you know just what can be done, and to make sure that I can give an accurate quote, I’ve put together some points for you to consider when designing your ideal keepsake engagement ring box. If you’re not sure just what you’re after then I’m happy to offer suggestions and ideas.

I require payment before work begins. I take lots of photographs through the making process and share them at each stage while changes can still be made. Customised items are non-refundable unless faulty, so it’s important to be sure that it’s just right.

I make two styles of engagement ring box, and both can be personalised.

'Will You Marry Me?' Ring Box

This engagement ring box can include a super cute creature (or maybe even two or three), a short personal message, a selection of colours, a selection of flowers and a choice of box and ribbon colours.

Classic Ring Box

This engagement ring box has a more simple and sleek design. You can choose an animal, a single flower or a small posy of tiny flowers, the base colour, and choose from two box colours and a selection of ribbon colours.

'Will You Marry Me?' Ring Box Options

Handmade engagement ring box

1. Creature(s) – I can change the creature in the box, or even add another. The options for this are pretty much limitless, the only real restriction is size and, as they have to remain tiny, level of detail. They can’t be more than about 3 cm (just over 1 inch) tall, and if you want text on the base then the bottom of the animal can’t be too big either. I have made representations of people’s pets or soft toys in the past, as well as designing a creature from the image inside somebody’s head.

2. Base and ring holder colour – I make the base and the ring holder from glitter effect clay. See the picture below for my standard glitter clay colour choices. I can blend these colours too, pastels are quite popular.

3. Piping colours – The piping can be one or two colours. I find it very effective using the base colour and a complimenting colour. Some people like to have their partner’s favourite colour. Any of the base colours, or a blend of these colours can be used for the twisted piping. Or you could have no piping at all for a more simple and classic look.

4. Bow colour – Again this can be any of the glitter clay colours or a blend.

5. Flower type(s) – The three different styles of standard flower I make, a daisy, a poppy and a buttercup can be seen in the picture below (the red squirrel has daisies, the badger has poppies and the rabbit has buttercups). I can also make more complex flowers, e.g. roses or daffodils, these will likely incur an extra charge and this will depend on the flower style. If you like I can do a mixture of several types and/or colours of flowers.

6. Flower colours(s) – You can choose the colours of both the petals and flower centres. I have a very wide range of colours I can use for the flowers so just ask and I can probably do it.

7. Felt colour – I have a selection of pure wool felt to line the ring holder including: green, cream, grey, brown and beige. These can be seen in the picture below.

8. Box text – I can alter the text on the box, or remove it completely. The text size can be changed if you would like more text on the front of the box.

9. Base text – I can alter the text on the base of the box. Of course this is limited by space. Let me know what you want and I’ll see what I can do.

10. Box colour – I can make the box out of brown Kraft, oatmeal and biscuit coloured recycled card (the biscuit is a slightly warmer shade than the oatmeal), with a choice of ribbon and text colours. Below is a picture showing the different colours available. From the top left they are: oatmeal and grey ribbon, brown Kraft and ivory, biscuit and brown, oatmeal and maroon,

3. Flower type(s) and colour(s) – The standard box comes with a glittery red rose, but this can be replaced with a tiny version of your partner's favourite flower, or even a small posy of tiny flowers. I have a very wide range of colours I can use for the flowers so just ask and I can probably do it.

4. Felt colour – I have a selection of pure wool felt to line the ring holder, these are: green, cream, grey, brown and beige. They can be seen in the picture below.

5. Box colour – You can choose from black or brown Kraft recycled-card box. These can be seen in the picture below.

4. Ribbon colour – I have a selection of different coloured ribbon that can be used to adorn the outside of the box. These are: grey, ivory, maroon, blue green and brown. They can be seen in the picture below.
